The Family Acid is Roger, Mary, Kate, and Devon Steffens. They are based in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

Roger Steffens is a decorated Vietnam veteran, photographer, archivist, author, actor, editor, DJ, and lecturer. He has been taking photographs since the early 1960s, documenting his unorthodox life and experiences. In 2013, Roger's son Devon scanned his slides and negatives, and daughter Kate began posting them to Instagram, accompanied with stories and historical information related to each photo. The majority of these photographs haven't been seen by anyone outside of the family until now. The archive contains approximately 40,000 Kodachrome slides, hundreds of thousands of black and white and color negatives, and countless digital photos. Since 2015, The Family Acid has released three books and one zine of photography and reminiscences.

Kate Steffens is an editor, archivist, writer, and artist. She works as an archivist/librarian at a University in the Bay Area.
